My favorite movie of all time would be Pulp Fiction. I watched it a few years ago as a recommendation form my brother. Its non-linear plot, interwoven stories and masterful shooting by Tarantino creates an eerily real depiction of gritty crime driven lives.

Movies
My favorite movie of the year was X-men Days: of Future Past. This movie was amazing due to the incredible effects and CGI used. Due to theater viewing the action sequences in the movie encapsulated my attention. I am a huge fan of the X-men empire and well the movies produced roughly ten to fifteen years ago were great, the advancement in CGI and other film effects has undoubtedly increased the quality of movies capable of being made.

Books with Meaning
On a Pale Horse: I chose to read this book my freshman year of high school; chosen purely by the name I was not expecting to enjoy the read. However, this well written book served as a testament to inevitability of death through the story of a suicidal photographer taking on the role of Death. This book allowed me the realization that a novel transcends beyond words on paper, that those words can teach you lessons in morality and character.

The Catcher in the Rye: A fan favorite, this book is not only influential to me, but highly controversial. Due to its "perverse" sexual exploits, language, and moral issues this book is one the most commonly banned. The influence this book has on me is the realization that theres a part in every person that wants to avoid growing into an adult and remain an innocent child free of responsibility, but no matter how hard one tries everyone at some point, must take a jump off that cliff.

Fahrenheit 451: Again a book from my freshman year, this book turned me on to dystopian novels and theories that explore the subject of an over-centralized government; a niche subject that still interests me today. This highly controversial book tells a story of a dystopian future where books are burned by the government in order to keep the masses mindlessly obedient. Influential to me, in understanding the importance of books in society and the strength of ones own government, this book on censorship has itself been subject to high amounts of such for its vulgarity of religion, truths of censorship and warnings of government.
